I think that yours database (steamrep.com) was hacked. Becouse I added Child directly from the site (I click steam profile link and add him and he was online etc) but after the trade scammer change link to his profile back to original. Here is screenshots and talk.

Some guy add me and want me to sell him Purple Energy Whoope cap. He offer good price so I think that I can do it. And I want to find middle man - he agree. So I go to http://steamrep.com/list/M and add to friends him http://www.steamrep.com/profiles/76561198006554353 (DIRECTLY from steamrep site!) and after I give him my hat he deleted me from friends. My buyer delete me too. I add him again (link was corrected here) and he pretend to don't know anything and obviously don't have my hat in his inventory.

Hey lanc, for more solid evidence, take a steam profile screenshot of the page leaded to the Impersonator by clicking on the Nickname of impersonator on your inventory history.

Child-Middleman nickname will lead to the impersonator's profile rather than original Child's profile

But it is strange that I add him directly through the steamrep.com site. Nobody give me link to him account. So maybe you can look to it? ;/

No. there's nothing i can do. You should see to which page Child's profile leads by clicking on Child's nick on your trade history page as in http://scr.hu/screenshooter/4577419/nqplkoa

It leads to scammer profile. But when I added him profile looks the same as steamrep profile. That's why I wrote that it was strange ;/

Oh yes, I am familiar with these scammers- they impersonate middlemen. And please, Child, do not be embarassed! Your English is good and I am very glad to meet you and the rest of the ROK admins. It is wonderful to have you as part of SteamRep.

This is how they scam you and make it look like they are real middlemen.

The scammer wants to trade with you. He asks you to pick a middleman. You go to the SteamRep middleman page and add a real middleman. You tell the scammer who you are using as a middleman. The scammer gets the other scammer/impersonator to impersonate the real middleman. The scammer/impersonator joins a public group you are in and invites you to trade.

You accept the trade because you think it is the real middleman that you just added as a friend. But it is the scammer/impersonator who uses groups to trade you without being on your friends list. Then the real middleman comes in and talks to you and you think you traded him.

It is a terrible scam.

I found that scammer main account ! That acc where he have all the stolen unusuals including mine!

I found it by searching on item history on tf2items.com. Here is my hat http://www.tf2items.com/item/667244441 dimongmon profile and you see my lvl 73 whoopie cap renamed to whoope cap! This is my stolen hat. And he also have lvl 35 steaming samur eye stolen from him http://steamcommunity.com/id/Vrcko/.
