Description:
Well basically I only advertised the unusual I had on TF2outpost and was only asking for tf2 promos. Some random guy adds me saying he's buy it with cash and seeing as I'd been scammed from a fake middleman before, I thought I'd take a background check on him before negotiating. I looked at his profile and it said it was a brand new account, with no playing time, friends, and no steamrep status. So I asked him about what he wanted to do and he kept offering higher than what my stuff was worth and said we'd do a middleman. Seeing as I had experience in being middleman scammed before, I asked him if my friend could be a middleman and he agreed. Then I went to my friend and asked him if we could call him out on his scam and he agreed. I invited him to the group chat and had them talk literally nothing about the trade at all. All of a sudden I get a chat invite from a fake account that copied my friend telling me to trade him the items. It was definitely not the same person because I viewed his steam profile and it was set on private, so I asked avs62 who it was and he immediately left the group chat, and the fake account left the conversation as well. In the end I didn't lose anything at all so its all good. Its just he seemed so much like the other guy who scammed me before in terms of chat language and timing.

Hi thanks for the report, the Impersonator already has 9 offenses against him, obviously he's now praying people won't check Steamrep.
We do accept reports from marked scammers like you, however they are not given the benefit of the doubt in most cases where there was a lack of evidence. An Admin will probably update the scammers offences as soon as one sees this.

That's quite irrelevant. A scam report is a scam report.

On topic, the fake middleman is banned by Valve, so I'm not sure what he was hoping to accomplish, and someone already reported the first trader to me on AF2.
