    Victim profile: 76561198071268462

    What happened? Description:
    The accused added me out of nowhere, never saw him before. He uses my name because he got it from my profile.I promptly added him back. He began with a casual messages, and suggested I advertised a site for him. I Immediately knew something wasn't right, but continued in case it was a scam so I could report. The moment he sent a link, I became sure it was indeed a scam, and told him no thanks, and unfriended and blocked him. My accusation is he attempted a phishing link scam from this information​

    Image of the accused profile, with their custom URL on screen, and the chat session between them and I.​

    You completely failed to take a full screenshot of the users profile WHILE friends - cause you did that I can't verify identity - follow next set of instructions.

    Thanks - issue is I can't confirm you were ever friends with this exact user by SteamID - all I see is a chat box with a name and profile image. Need to verify this and you can do that with a screenshot of your friend/user activity thru a web browser - when you take this and it shows you adding the user hover your mouse pointer over the users name so it shows the popup of the profile. Make sure you open this in a web browser before doing anything rather than steam client. Take the screenshot and make sure it's Full Screen and make sure steam client URL is enabled, not edited or cropped in any way! Upload HERE…NOT imgur, NOT gyazo or any other 3rd party hosting site!

    I'll try it one more time then, because honestly at this point it isn't worth the time I'm putting into it. And to be sure, you want it from the web browser version of steam, and me hovering over their name, which would block mine then. Is that correct?

    It worked thanks - but your attitude towards the report disturbs me... you clearly wanted to help others so you made it then you just wanted to abandon it cause you didn't want to put the work or effort into getting the right evidence against the accused. We don't just ban users from reports without making 100% sure about who is who and what they did.
    I'm sure you would be rather upset if someone reported you with half done evidence and nothing proving you were involved and we tagged you for it.
    So if you don't want to make sure of all this then your welcome to just report to Valve instead vs here.

    Your report was accepted and the accused was banned. Feel free to report a violation via their Steam profile.

    In order to do that, you have to:
    1. Visit the accuseds profile
    2. Click MORE drop-down located at the top right of the page
    3. Choose REPORT VIOLATION
    4. Select the violation, then describe it and provide the evidence
    5. Click SUBMIT REPORT
