    Scam Report

Report Type: [Money] PayPal scam or scam attempt
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198024690138

    Victim profile: 76561198004484072

    What happened? Description:
User contacted me about selling his entire TF2 backpack, minus some items that he wished to keep. I asked him what those items were, and he gave a list. I quoted a price of $140, and he agreed. Minus some inconsequential unique weapons, that I said he could keep for game play.

I sent several Trade Offers to start transferring over his items. On the third and final Trade Offer, it became apparent that a high value item (Strange Festive Professional shotgun), had been purchased from the Steam store; and was untradable for seven days.

This became the subject of disagreement between myself and the user. I pointed to the chat log, where on THREE different occasions I listed the items he wished to keep. And he agreed.

Upon realizing that the high value item was untradable I offered to knock the value of the item off of what I owed him, or wait until the item becomes tradable; and then pay him the full amount.

The user refused to transfer over the high value item. Also, there is a final pending Trade Offer, full of unique weps that are incontrovertably part of the trade, that the user has refused to hand over.

I'm submitting this report, very regretfully, because I have not been able to reach an agreement with the user. I stand ready to complete the agreed-upon trade. But this user is making that impossible.

If 32BitPimp would have made a trade with this user (100% completed) and Declivity would have left out the Strange Festive Shotgun and refused (after the trade) to give it back when it is trade-able or reduce the price of the agreed deal to compensate for the loss of an expensive item, then Declivity would have scammed 32BitPimp. Declivity agreed to give him items in exchange for cash, he did not give the full amount of items (witch Declivity listed himself minutes into the conversation) and threatens to make a report if he refuses, witch he later did.

I am wondering why you refused to compromise with the deal offered, with the return of all items, in effect, canceling the trade for perhaps a later date when the item in question became tradeable.

It was agreement, you start getting people to force or use "they would not compromise" to justify a report, and the building blocks for ALL reports, get thrown out the window.
Hard cold fact is, he did not mention the item in the list he wanted to keep, end of story. Lets gets admins/mods take over. Keep spam off the report(s)

To me, it doesn't even seem like a compromise. It seems more of canceling the deal. With regards to what you said about saying he wanted to keep it, where exactly did he say that? As far as I can tell, 32BitPimp refused to cancel the deal and ran with what he had. How could it be a scam when 32BitPimp hadn't even sent anything over, yet he had received quite a lot of items already?

I don't know how useful this is where there are hundreds of items in multiple trades. I screen-stitched them together as best as I could. I believe there were supposed to be three trades in total. He completed the first two, and these screenshots aim to capture the items that I did receive. He never completed the third trade, which was for approximately 125 craft weapons, and the SF Shotgun. Him going first was part of the agreement, I'm waiting for him to honor his side of the agreement, before I honor mine. This is completely by the book.

In a situation like this, where the trade agreement is accidentally breached, the trade is to be reversed entirely if the 2 parties cannot come to a mutual agreement. From the conversation, it's clear that @Declivity ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) fully intended to correct the situation, while @32BitPimp refused to cooperate and opted instead to change the deal, holding the accused's items as collateral and then even filing this report despite the opportunity to remedy this situation. What should have happened here is for 32bitpimp to return the items to Declivity if he felt he did not agree to pay for the backpack minus untradeable items, which Declivity fully cooperated with. If 32bitpimp were truly concerned about the untradeable items, he also should have known full well they were untradeable and accounted for who was responsible for the gift wrap, instead of expecting accused to magically transfer an account-locked item. Victim at no point offered gift wrap as an option, but instead threatened to make this report here for not agreeing to new terms mid-trade. To expect the accused to obtain gift wrap at their own expense, while already sending alleged victim their entire inventory, without a prior agreement, would also be unreasonable.

Furthermore, 32bitpimp had over 2 months to repay the Declivity or offer gift wrap so the he could complete the trade agreement. For keeping the Declivity's items in this fashion, without paying him, and using this lack of payment as leverage to manipulate Declivity into agreeing to new terms ex post facto, I am issuing a BANNED tag for 32bitpimp. From what has been provided, I see no evidence of any wrongdoing on the victim's part, and every intention to remedy the situation despite their own loss. Declivity's reputation therefore remains unchanged and the report against them will be archived.
