    Scam Report

Report Type: [Rep Fraud] Impersonation with intent to defraud
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198026577539

    Victim profile: 76561198167530986

    What happened? Description:
Randomly added me and contacted me asking to buy two items for pure overpay. Asked me to verify that it was listable on the OPSkins market, which I then proved by listing them and sending screenshots that they were listed successfully. The trader then proceeded to get increasingly impatient and told me that I was listing them incorrectly, even though there is one way to list items on OPSkins. This is when I become increasingly suspicious. He then walked me through everything I had previously done. I had played along, when I did not even have OPSkins open on my computer. Once I told him that the item had been clicked from my inventory and was one click away from being listed, a "bot" sent me a trade with a security key that had not even been generated anywhere on my computer. This is clearly impossible since I didn't do anything involving the site and that item. I called him out on it and he proceeded to deny the incident. The bot appeared to be a normal bot but I noticed that it did not look anything like the other OPSkins bots. After a few times of calling him out I was blocked.

I was not able to take one singular screenshot because I was blocked soon after I realized the full extent of what was going on, but they are not cropped or altered in any way.

    Provide Evidence:
Below are two offers. The topmost offer was a legitimate offer that I had refused because I needed to verify that OPSkins clearly showed a security key before it sent the trade offer. The bottom-most offer was from the fake OPSkins bot, which came with a security key that I never listed or generated.

Below is the account of a legitimate OPSkins bot. Notice the hours in CSGO and its steam level, as well as being in the OPSkins bots group. View attachment 636133
Below here is the fake bot account. Notice that I was blocked by the bot, since bots are nearly always online or ingame. Also note the number of hours in CSGO as well as the fact that it is not in the OPSkins bots group. This is clearly a fake bot, not only due to the fact that it is a poor imitation but also because I had never opened up an OPSkins window in the time frame that the trade was sent.

Below are the only chat windows I was able to capture before I was blocked, I apologize that it is not in just one picture. These images are un-altered and not cropped. View attachment 636130 View attachment 636131

Looking back at this user and past invalid reports, it is very possible that this could be a user impersonating Curiosity. I do not have a way of confirming whether this profile is the correct one based off of these screenshots alone. As such this report should be marked as invalid due to the lack of evidence. I was blocked too fast to confirm the steam URL with the one on SteamRep. I am under the assumption that this impersonator is quite similar to the ones spotted in past invalid reports. Apologies for jumping the gun.

Ok so you reported the wrong user... check.
You need to be more careful in the future - you wouldn't like it very much if someone did that to you.
