What happened? Description:

So somebody adds me to try trade my knife from me. This is normal occurrence. He offers me a M9 Bayonet Safari Mesh Field Tested. I look it up and see that this would be a trade beneficial in my favour. When I open a trade with him, he first puts in lots of low-mid value items(to my confusion) and then finally adds the knife to the end. I tell him that this is more than I asked for an that the knife alone would suffice. Being the clever man that he is, he told me it's because I'm so nice and that he doesn't need them or something along those lines.

I ready up the trade.

He then asks if he could have some cheap shotgun skin with the trade since he has none. I figure, why not? He's giving me all this stuff, so I might give some extra back. Sure.

So I add two shotgun skins, canceling my ready to trade status, and then ready up again.

See now comes the part that I really should have seen coming. While I'm not ready, he removes the knife from the trade. Since he's added a buffer of low-tier items, it's outside of my field of view. Sheepishly, I accept the trade, realizing with horror just a split-second too late what had just taken place.​

Provide Evidence:

I'm not sure if this is enough evidence, but before I got the idea to report it here I had already closed the chat and unfriended him. All I can say is that nobody aware of the prices of items would do this trade.​

The item lost in question, by the way, was a Gut Knife | Blue Steel (Well Worn)

Do you have something showing the original trade agreement? The trade agreement is an important piece of evidence and with out proof of it I don't know how much Steamrep Staff can do.
