I wouldn't open any links in chat that you aren't absolutely sure whether they're safe. l was almost just phished by some guy who randomly added me and sent me a link like that. You can never be too sure. Thanks for not clicking! ;)

I happen to know this guy IRL and I can safely say that he's telling the truth.

This link to a fake Steam website that try to steal account info, there's nothing in the source code that will re-spread the link automaticly.

BTW, Nice try making an alt steamrep forum account linked to nothing to defend your main...

If you would like to appeal your judgement, please file a report in the appeals section. Posting here will do nothing to help your case.

I would just like to point out that a program that posts links to everyone in someone's friends list is entirely possible. The site I work for has wrote a bot that is able to produce a string in our group chat directing people to our forums to sign up for unusual pricechecks. It's entirely possible that the hacker who created the website has done the same thing to spread phishing.

Possible, but not in this case.

I've verified myself the website and it's just a typical info stealing website. Which only steal the account and change pass for email and account, nothing on the website is designed in order to copy/paste or spear by any way the link by simply going on the hijacking website.

It's obviously have been copy/pasted manually by the user. Or the user that have been in control on the account, and in this case, he seems he was fully in controland even there, IMO his acocunt is his responsability. The website itself show no way how it could been redistribute the link by itself.
