    Scam Report

Report Type: [Rep Fraud] Impersonation with intent to defraud
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198044261237

    Victim profile: 76561198030166808

    What happened? Description:
A friend of mine (very recent friend) i met while playing TF2 had messaged me out of the blue asking for help, saying that they had accidently reported me for duping items. Then went on and told me to talk to the "admin" about repealing the report. I added and talked, but had asumed that valve members did not contact you this way so i was very careful about the chat.

This person then went on with messages that seemed very copy/paste style and posted a fake image of my accout with a "ban notice" on the side. They then went on to continue before i cut them off stating i would report them and if they were truely a valve member they would continue the conversation through the valve support email directly to me. I then removed both players as my friends and blocked them as it is 3 in the morning and i wanted to just play some victoria 2. I will attach pictures of all the evidence along side this report. Unfortunately i did not get images from the chat with my friend, only the supposed scammer. in hindsight i should have capped both.

    Provide Evidence:
View attachment 689390 Initial conversation with the false image of my profile. View attachment 689391 A picture of my profile, i can see where they "clipped" on the report image.
View attachment 689392 Continued conversation and them bringing up my reported" dupped" items. They essentially listed my expensive showcase items.
View attachment 689393 Statements on them getting me to "confirm" with their process.
View attachment 689394 my final regard as when they stated they would have to run a "Program" I knew it was bs.

I hope this info is enough, please forgive my lack of professionalism, i did skim the rules and regulations and hope this is up to snuf.

After doing some reading I believe these screenshots do not fit under the regulations, would i be able to unblock communications with them to retrieve proper screenshots?

Well this user is already banned/tagged here - nothing more we can do to them anyway.
But you said someone else told you something to start it? Was there another user involved first a "friend" or someone you added?

yes, https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198140863068 or also known as ⭐viperbro6113⭐ at this time was the one who contacted me out of the blue, saying they accidentally reported me and i needed to talk to this person in order to clear my name. Unfortunately i removed them as a friend and blocked communication so i cant pull up (unless there is a way to bring it back up?)

Also sorry to hear Ragmerrock, not sure what to say other than to report them to steam support and get your friend to contact steam support to help get their account back. Usually its very easy to do so if they have mobile authentication or their email tied to their account.

Thanks - this user is already banned/tagged - nothing more we can do to them.
Should you come across a user like this again upon checking them when you accept as friends, its best to just report them to Valve, delete and move on.
Due to the amount of offenses already listed on this users profile, we won't be listing any thing more.
Report will be archived for future reference.
Again you can always report the user to Valve
In order to do that, you have to:
    1. Visit the accuseds profile
    2. Click MORE drop-down located at the top right of the page
    3. Choose REPORT VIOLATION
    4. Select the violation, then describe it and provide the evidence
    5. Click SUBMIT REPORT

Click here to view an animated gif that shows how to report a violation.
