    Scam Report

Report Type: [Item Fraud] Misrepresenting virtual items
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198044444299

    Victim profile: 76561198159412279

    What happened? Description:
Scammed by faking item prices and quaility (scammer claimed 'craftable', but instead uncraftable'). Refuses to trade back.

    Provide Evidence:
I was in a TF2 trade server, trying to buy something with 10 keys, when this person came on and traded me. He said he was selling paint cans for 1 key each, and they were black and white cans (claimed they were craftable). I refused at first, but then he tried to bait me by adding another paint, in which i could sell them all for 11 keys. He also added a free taunt, again trying to bait me. I decided to trade, then sell them on outpost or bazaar or whatever, and accepted. That's when I realised it was basically useless for me, since I didn't have that many cosmetics. So I decided to trade back the guy, and guess what? He was gone. I decided to find his account and add him so I would get my keys back, but however, he blocked my communication. I tried asking to trade back, but refused and eventually blocked me from Steam. I then checked the prices of my cans, and it turns out, they were actually uncraftable. I then realised the price of the cans were cheaper than 1 key, meaning he scammed me by misrepresenting me. Note that this is not a shark, since the trader made me believe they were craftable, in which they are 1 key worth.

DO NOT TRADE WITH THIS PERSON, PERSON MAY LOOK LIKE A GOOD TRADER, BUT HOWEVER, HE ISN'T.

I only have a small evidence, and I didn't manage to take a screenshot of the chat window, but please, let this be a warning, DO NOT TRADE WITH THIS PERSON.

Firstly, I did not "claim" that the paints were craftable and never mentioned about it being craftable or not. Secondly, it was entirely your fault for not checking it carefully before confirming the trade. You had two times to check that the paints were craftable or not. Lastly, I quote :"Note that this is not a shark, since the trader made me believe they were craftable, in which they are 1 key worth." This is entirely false, never did I make you believe that the paints were craftable and were worth a key each.

Looks like a legit 1 for 1 trade here as there are no chat/agreement discussion showing a deception in the trade. If this is about pricing/value disputes between the items, it is something we don't get involved with.
