    Scam Report

Report Type: [Item Fraud] Quick-switch trade scam or attempt
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198047025126

    Victim profile: 76561198334459968

    What happened? Description:
The accused user scammed a friend of mine (76561198015276745) out of an unusual taunt, a Holy Grail Flippin Awesome through the use of an account designed to impersonate a marketplace.tf bot, on 07/10/2019. Upon viewing the backpack history, I noticed other users were scammed, the most notable occurrence being the victim (76561198334459968) losing their Unusual Burning Flames Nunhood, an item worth $600 to $700. I made contact with the original owner of the Nunhood, who confirmed that they lost the item to the marketplace.tf bot after being scammed. I have provided this user as the victim instead of the other involved users because of the value of the item that was stolen from them.

The accused user is affiliated with 59 known scammers / malicious users and has engaged in malicious behavior and/or activity by creating their own fake account designed to impersonate a marketplace.tf bot account. The account pretends to be a legitimate trade bot, asking that the user deposit their item to the bot's inventory to have the item appear on their marketplace.tf site inventory (the prompt is identical to one that would be issued by a legitimate bot account.) This user has been continuously changing the profile to impersonate other trade bots while purging its known aliases to keep it as "clean" as possible. Most, if not all items that are stolen and brought to this account are immediately traded away to mannco.store and listed for real money purchases; a good number of these items are still listed on their mannco.store page. The important thing to note is that any and all items scammed will change hands from the scam account to the accused user, as shown in the attached evidence files.

If you confront the accused about their fradulent activity, they will deny any accusations profusely and point to their transactions with the fake marketplace.tf bot account, claiming that the items were obtained in a trade using "pure" (it is worth noting that marketplace.tf strictly deals in real currency, rather than in-game items). Even if they engaged in a "legitimate transaction," the amount of keys given (40 keys; $99.60) to the fake account barely amounts to the total, actual value of the items acquired during this instance of scamming multiple users (between $800-900). This transaction took place just to feign an actual trade that might have occurred between a bot and a typical user. It is also worth noting that users will periodically comment that they have been scammed by the accused user. Whether it be a single mention or multiple comments, all comments mentioning their malicious and fraudulent behavior are deleted to maintain a positive identity that can be used to continue scamming unsuspecting users.

This section will elaborate on evidence provided that are not required:
    a. A list of all users that were involved with the scamming incidents that took place on 07/11/2019, both the victims and the scam account.
    b. A backpack.tf inventory history of the accused user's scam account that displays all items scammed on 07/11/2019. It is worth noting that the item that belongs to my friend (76561198015276745) has since been recovered after multiple attempts to contact the accused user to discuss their malicious activity.
    c. A list of all items that were scammed on 07/11/2019 and their backpack.tf history. This is to show which item(s) the accused user scammed from the involved users and/or the victim.
    d. A live capture of the accused user's scam account, depicting the identity it used to scam the victim and other users on 07/11/2019.
    e. A recent live capture of the accused user's scam account, depicting its current identity as of 07/14/2019.
    f. A link to the accused user's mannco.store page, where you can periodically find these stolen items.

Other pieces of evidence to note are the following attachments:
    a. A print screen capture of the accused user's comments section, where the victim is accusing the malicious user in question of scamming them out of their item and the accused user denying the accusations. This is included because the comments shown in this image will deleted after a short while, demonstrating the accused user's intent to appear as trustworthy as possible.
    b. An image showing the transaction that occurred between the accused user and his scam account. This shows the outrageously low payment offered to the account to mimic a legitimate transaction/trade; the image was obtained after contacting the accused user myself wherein they decided to share this with me as proof of a "legitimate trade" after inquiring about the multiple scam trades that were conducted.

Don't accept 3rd party reports - victim must submit report.
Aside from that I see no scam here or nothing that relates to such between either user in the chat logs.
Please don't submit reports unless you have clear evidence between the victim and the accused.
