    Scam Report

Report Type: [Item Fraud] Misrepresenting virtual items
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198073339493

    Victim profile: 76561198099745107

    What happened? Description:
She sharked me using poor value unusuals, specifically a purple energy whoopie cap (4.3 buds with 2.2 key paint) and an orbiting fire valahala helm (unpriced, but orbiting fire has always been a bad effect) which she claims is super valuable because it's unpriced, to get my 24 bud scorching flames pencil pusher from me. She just added me one day on steam and had a good +rep rating, and it sounded like a good deal, but turned out to be a flop.

    Provide Evidence:
I'm sorry I couldn't get the initial sharking, she blocked all communication with me after the trade and only responded after I left a comment on her outpost.tf. I can, however, show you the chat after I confronted her and her reaction. I also have proof of the trade and proof that it was her that scammed me. Thank you for your time. Sharked? How? Lets clear up some of the details.

yes, I offered 2 hats for his 1 hat.
yes, one of mine was valued on backpack.tf at somewhere around 4.3 buds.
yes, one of mine was unvalued on backpack.tf, which he knew.
Yes, he told me he wanted 20+ buds for his hat.
    yes, we did trade.

no, i did not block him, i removed him.

yes, I did rage when he put a negative Trust on backpack.tf. Those pictures of the chat are direct result of me noticing a negative TRUST on backptack.tf. So yah, i'm being rude in those screenshots. Forgive me for reacting extremely towards someone elses negative comments.

    To summarize it:
He knew that 2 were priced on backpack.tf and one was not. We traded. Now we are here.

This is pretty lame that I'm being accused of sharking by someone with 1,600+ hours on TF2 when i was just simply looking to do some normal trading. Now i have to be on full-defenses because of his sudden change of heart.

I would like to point that the number of hours doesn't matters, the trading experience does. And in this case, he maybe having good number of TF2 Hours, but had just a little bit of trading experience, or to be specific "Unusual Trading Experience" and you really think your other hat was worth 20 buds? You clearly tried to Misrepresenting the virtual item.

I clearly tried to misrepresent a virtual item? how?

He went on backptack.tf and saw the prices of each item and I made sure he knew that this one is not priced there. He confirmed that he saw one was not priced.

I had the only first generation Valhalla Helm ever seen on the market. It was my item and i could ask my price. I was asking about 20-25 pure for it since i declined a 14 bud mixed offer.

Dont assume that backpack.tf is the word of God for prices. The price of the pusher was made when there was only two in existence, now there's 4 since Christmas. Whos to say that the price will remain stable due to new competition added to the market for this item.

2muchducks now owns a first gen Valhalla -- which there haven't been any on the market since we traded. He could of asked anything he wanted for it. But instead someone who wanted his pencil pusher added him and told him their personal opinion of the trade. He now has buyers remorse and chooses to call me some type of scammer because I did a trade that looked good for me on paper, even though he knew that doing the trade would give him an unpriced hat that would make his deal look bad on paper on his end. He saw this and was weary about the trade at first because of this difference. However, in the end after thinking about it, he chose reply to my offer and accept it.

You said it yourself, this looks to be a sharking/buyers remorse case. Those aren't taken by SteamRep. Some communities do take sharking cases, but I think based on what I see here, it's just buyers remorse.

I don't see any sort of misrepresentation in the information provided. There may have been something in the original chat, but as far as I can see, that is gone. No way to get back to it.
The point here is you were supposed to do some research on what you should value each item at. You did the trade and were happy with it until someone told you you could have gotten more.

I see no scam here. If the admins/mods do, well... I guess that's their call.
