    Scam Report

Report Type: [Item Fraud] Fake items or item duplication
Virtual item type involved: [CSGO] Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Items

    Accused profile: 76561198081765981

    Victim profile: 76561198044550259

    What happened? Description:
This particular scam has three parts.

    PART 1.
This user going by the ID 'noname' added me and said they were interested in getting a game gift from me (Valve complete pack) for all their cards, (Screenshot A). totalling to 130 or therebouts at the time but I declined as I was only interested TF2 in keys. We argued for a bit about it, but I was firm. I decided to ignore it thinking it was just another person with no real grip on steam pricing. I paste binned this conversation but didn't submit it. I thought maybe it was just a new guy trying his luck. Checked his profile and they were low leveled so I deided to let it slide. (Screenshot B)

    PART 2.
The guy sent a new message this time asking if I would be interested in a 'Flip Knife | Boreal Forest' CSGO item for my Valve pack. (Screenshot C). Seeing the value of the knife vs the value of my game, I definitely got interested. At this point I decided to start recording the chat as I figured they might want the pack with an extra game or two for such a valuable knife.

I also figured that this may be an alt account for their real on as I've seen people make alt's to store valuable items so there was the possibility of it being real. The conversation from this point recorded in provided (Screenshot A). The user 'Enemy' (http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197982056106/) in the tab was apparently his 'alt account' and it held the knife in question. I checked it out and it actually did have the knife. (Screenshot D)

This the point where the actual scam attempt begins. The guy asked me to gift the pack to his 'no name' account, then he'd switch over and gift me the knife. All sorts of reasons were given in this bizarre trading method, which I was initially doubtful then almost immediately refused. (Screenshot C, E)

    PART 3
The guy kept trying to convince me to do the trade his way, but I was firm that I wasn't going to do it. (NSFW language). In the end, I was the one accused of being the Scammer and was going to be reported. Towards the end of http://pastebin.com/jiUPAXaf

    CONCLUSION
While I did not lose any items in this trade, I feel that the next person might not be as lucky and might be scammed out of their valuables, considering the knife in question is quite valuable. The chat I was in (Steam trading Cards group) had multiple members warning each other to avoid the person in question.

It is for this reason that I felt it is important to forward this scam attempt to Steam rep. I wil be doing the same to steam as well. Hopefully someone in the near future will not lose their items in vain.

If I have indeed been reported as was threatened, I consider this to be my defense as well. I am willing to answer any further questions. I appreciate whoever reads this for their time and patience.

Thank you for keeping the community clean,

    Sincerely,

    Steve.

    Provide Evidence:
I have attached as much detail of the chat below as I can. As noted above, I paste binned the initial offer but didn't save it as I thought the guy was just new to trading. I have however screened the point where the knife came into play.

Let's just go over this, you wanted the game, pm'd me for it and offered the knife. Read your own chat log... I didn't ask you for anything but keys. When I suggested a trade window transaction, you insist on me going first, yet both items can easily be handled by the trading window itself. Then when you see things aren't going your way, you try and turn it around and say I'm the scammer? Please, do not try to fool anyone. The evidence is all up there.
