What happened? Description:

user befriended me on Steam, offered me Assassin's Creed Unity as a gift through steam for my Humble Bundle Alien Isolation gift link. I checked his profile, which seemed to have quite a lot of good rep, so I decided to gamble on his honesty and send the gift link first (not possible to trade it)

Unfortunately after that the user logged off, blocked me (so I couldn't comment on his profile) and has gone dark ever since. I never received any gift.​

That's weird, the accused profile number is incorrect. It should be 76561198120975628
not the one ending in 321.
The block below is correct.

The transcript screenshot shows the username, his icon, and today's date.
Since he blocked me afterwards I don't think there is any way to show he was at one time on my friend's list, but I feel the screenshot should be enough proof of that
During the chat I did repeatedly check that the user in the chat was the same as the listed user (profile)

Additional info: here is his current steamrep on steamgifts.com: it looks like he turned to the dark side about a month ago:

Electronir was his previous alias (verifiable thru steam)

He was only on my friend list for a total of 10 minutes. As such, there was not enough time for shared activity to take place. And since Steam doesn't keep a friend/unfriend history there is no way to retrieve that proof.
However, wouldn't I have had to have been in his friend list to be able to have that whole conversation with him?
I can't offer any other evidence than the screenshot, his steamgifts rep (7 negative in the past month). As a bonus, the top negative feedback on steamgifts.com also features a screenshot of the chat in which that person was scammed. In my opinion this should be enough.

If not , then I guess his steamrep will have to remain neutral even though he has been banned on his old name (same account) on steamgifts.com and he has now got 8 negative scam feedback in the past month.

During the chat session I checked if I was talking to the correct person multiple times (in chat: dropdown-->profile). It always lead to the account in this report.
But yes, you'll only have my word on that.
