    Scam Report

Report Type: [Other] Any other fraudulent behavior
Virtual item type involved: [DOTA2] Dota2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198121901103

    Victim profile: 76561197990118173

    What happened? Description:
I posted two identical threads on Reddit.com subreddits /r/Dota2Trade and /r/SteamGameSwap. The accused added me on steam, where the exchange occurred as shown in the screenshots. As soon as I sent the second trade request, the accused accepted the trade, removed me from their friends list, and logged off steam (or possibly blocked me). My reddit account is /u/bethevoid - you can view my posts there. I have read the SteamRep report guide which talks about getting evidence of exact items that were agreed upon in the trade. Unfortunately for the second trade offer I do not have evidence of exact items in the chat - but the exact items do show up in my trade history of course. All relevant screenshots have been provided. The chat does not display the user removing me from their friends list or going offline - I don't know how to prove that this occurred immediately after our chat - but it is very easy to prove that my Steam account does not have the games that the accused agreed to trade me. I'm happy to provide ANY other evidence that will help, please simply instruct me on what is required. Thank you for your time.

Were you trading for codes? By logging into another account or their account or vise versa? I don't understand the situation.

Hello. When I sent the first trade request, I had been lead to believe he would send me a Steam key to redeem immediately afterwards. However, once the accused accepted my first trade request, they explained that they were using AMD game rewards 2/3 deal (apparently you can select 2 out of 3 games to receive from AMD) and I would need to log into the AMD Rewards account to link it to my Steam profile. I was not happy about that, but felt I didn't have any choice - and several other members of the SteamGameSwap subreddits were using the same AMD 2/3 rewards offer so I thought it must be ordinary (I am not an experienced trader obviously...) The accused then explained they were forced to redeem both games at once, which is why the second trade offer from me occurred. Once they had accepted both trades, and had my items, they unfriended me and logged out without providing any other information. They never provided any Steam keys OR any AMD game rewards account information, and obviously I have no way of getting my items back now.

Unfortunately, SteamRep does not accept reports dealing with cd keys, game codes, steam codes, Pin codes etc.. due to current Investigative Policy.
