What happened? Description:

This person posted a trade offer on CSGOlounge to trade a knife for a knife that I had. I added him on steam, and he impersonated someone who actually is a Steam trading card collector. He was trying to get this specific card from another use who claims to have blocked him. He agreed to give me the knife and another skin if I could talk to this other Steam user, SMACKTAHT, and try to trade and get this trading card. A Friends Foil Trading Card. It seemed really valuable to him/her, so I decided to just talk to the other user and tried to trade for it. I was just trying to be nice, although I didn't think anything would happen. To my surprise, when I offered my knife and essentially my most valuable CSGO items, SMACKTAHT actually accepted the trade. Of course I was still excited as I could get a new knife, which is when I realized, that both had gone offline and probably unfriended me to avoid me. He and the other use blocked me. I feel awful that I have been scammed, but even worse that I was just trying to help someone out, albeit a stranger. I now know why some traders have to be brutal and harsh to avoid being scammed. Though all of it facilitates a cancerous and terrible attitude over the internet and Steam. I am relatively new to trading CSGO but I have bought a lot of things over the internet from different users without much issue. I was just trying to be nice and trying to create a more positive community. If there is any way to reverse what has been done I would be grateful. I know that it is unlikely, but I wish these two users would be brought to some sort of justice.​

In addition, they bought up all these actually worthless cards to make it appear as if it had a high market price. I really want to iterate that I was completely unaware of the trade offer that I had made. Here are more pictures of the info on the card. I hope at the very least others won't be caught.

I cannot locate a Steamrep source for the accomplice but his username is SMACKTAHT and his profile link is as follows.

2 weeks before you got scamed i made a report to warn others of them and in febuary some other guy got scamed so if you had checked steamrep in advance this hadnt happened
