What happened? Description:

Summary:
On the 20/5/17 'the accused' (he keeps changing his name) promised Universe "2500 money" for almost all of his cosmetics [see screenshot 'universe chat']. Universe then traded him the cosmetics and the accused blocked him and did not pay him. Universe, because he is very new to trading, did not take screenshots of the chat.

Universe told me about this about 14 days later, and I said I would investigate to see if I could get his items back. I added the accused and had the conversation you can see in the screenshots (be warned, it's long and a bit dramatic). He denies any knowledge of even knowing Universe let alone trading with him, and gets very defensive.

I have attached screenshot of the trade Universe did, and of the items appearing, on the same date, in the accused backpack. Universe has a private backpack, so he does not appear on the histories, but almost all the cosmetics were crafted by him, and they are exactly the same as the ones in the trade log (note the Jag named 'LOL').

I asked the accused about this. He repeatedly claimed he had never heard of this user, even after I sent him links to this evidence He claimed he had been impersonated, but a search on Steam for ‘Meoa’ (which is the name Universe said he traded with, and the name he was currently using) showed no impersonators. None of the 14 results had or had ever used names similar to his. None of them even had TF2. There are also no other users in the history of the iems.

I have attached a screenshot of the trade log in Chinese, as it shows the accused's name as being 'meoa | trade.tf', which then changes in the English version (taken later) to 'justin'. The accused changed his name to justin in between these screenshots (see his profile), further convincing me it wasn't an impersonation.

I know the value traded is not huge, but it meant a lot to Universe. Thank you for sitting through such a mammoth report for such a smale time possible scam.​
