What happened? Description:

Once accepted a friend invite, this user explained how he would like me to add his friend who's steam is not working; however, as you can see from the photo, he posted a link which looks similar to the steamcommunity website (Phishing Link). As soon as I noticed this was a phishing attempt, I took a screencap and am currently writing the report after this incident.

No items were lost during this incident, but I would like to report this to you to warn others about the dangers of false URLs. Being a previous victim to a phishing incident, I understand the loss one can have once an account becomes hijacked, and since then, I have been careful of trades and people's messages when it comes to trading and posting URL's.

Provide Evidence:

Both images show the profile of the user and the attempt using a false URL. I immediately reported the user and screen-caped the incident.

I wanted to click on the link to show how realistic the log in screens can be of false phishing sites, but did not want to risk any damage/possibility of a hijack.

Hopefully this is enough evidence to put a tag on this user, to benefit other users and warn them about users who use phishing links to hijack accounts. This is not solely around the matters of TF2, but also the steam account itself and the personal information that a user can potentially lose/be stolen of due to these links.
