What happened? Description:

Scoutman, added me on steam and when I accepted his friend request he said, "Hello I want to buy your unusual hat but I have to check if it's clean first. Do you happen to have a trusted friend online?" I responded,(Knowing that was the beginning of a scam attempt) "yea." Then Scoutman asked, "hmm okay what's his steam name?" (I honestly had a trusted friend online so I told my friend to play along). I gave him my friends name and then he asked me,"do you mind if i add him? and it's because I want your friend to hold it for awhile, then I'll check his inventory to make sure it's clean. Then you can get your hat back after I check his inventory." I then proceeded to tell my friend to make his profile private so that Scoutman could not access my friend's inventory to check. Scoutman then asked, "Is your friend a trader?" and then he proceeded by asking, "you're selling your unusual hat and taunt correct?" I responded, "yup." Scoutman then caught on that I was getting evidence of his attempt on scamming. Scoutman did not respond at all.​
