    Scam Report

Report Type: [Money] PayPal scam or scam attempt
Virtual item type involved: [CSGO] Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Items

    Accused profile: 76561198125209844

    Victim profile: 76561198036495371

    What happened? Description:
I recorded the majority of the confrontation, including the incriminating evidence, with OBS and will provide a link to the Unlisted Youtube video. The run-down is he added me from my CSGO Lounge and asked for a voice call, I said it was late (which it is :p. It's 07:35AM right now), he said I could just listen because it was easier for him. I answered and he started telling me how he trustable and all that, showed me a screenshot (link provided) of his paypal history with my chat window and his friends list. I asked him to redo it as I saw that a few friends who were online in the picture were offline at the time. He uploaded another picture (link provided) where the friends list was a different colour I noticed. I asked him to upload it with the friends list in the middle, he started muttering and talking about random stuff, then he unfriends me. I show in the video that he was still online when he went offline (meaning he unfriended me).

    Provide Evidence:
First Screenshot he sent me: http://gyazo.com/60044e0dc3a7a76a1c965ae0643bb6a1

Second Screenshot he sent me: http://gyazo.com/e3d3032a3cc8053505abaa00221c5f78

Youtube video contained the majority of the conversation:

The quality of your pictures is bad however as your story really is not that clear i'm assuming that he faked a paypal account?

Paypal transactions are the quickest, easiest, and usually incur the lowest fees. However, it is the least secure, and chargebacks are easy to issue. Chargebacks almost always fall in favor of the scammer (99.5%).

There are many people who will pay with hacked or stolen PayPal accounts. You will always lose these payments, just a matter of time when the real owner finds out and reports it. You can never completely avoid it, but here are some tips to make it less:

Ask your buyer to provide ID card which name matches the PayPal their paying with.

Avoid "too good to be true" deals. For example "I want to buy your keys for $300 USD, and I will go first", usually these payments are made with stolen PayPals.

Ask your buyer to screenshot their phone number which is bound to their PayPal, make a call to it to confirm it's the real owner.

Google the buyers PayPal address, some hacked PayPals can be easily revealed in google.

See if their paypal is verified
    Logging into Paypal
    Entering this address: https://www.paypal.com/verified/[email protected]
Where [email protected] is the buyer/sellers Paypal email.
You will get their Verification Status as well as their Account Creation Date.

The best thing i can suggest you is to use a middle man next time cause paypal scams are one of the most common scams in history.

ps i did not watch the video

    Really late reply but:

The screenshots that I linked are the pure original screenshots that he sent me, so if you think they're bad quality then that his fault for taking very bad false images.

From your message, it feels to me like you think I got scammed, but I didn't. And no offence to other traders but, I think scams like these are quite obvious and spot them mostly straight away.
