What happened? Description:

Attempts to impersonate a friend so that you will trade your hat to his fake account. He will ask for you to choose a friend and initiate the trade through a conversation so he doesn't need to add you as a friend.​

Provide Evidence:

This guy added me friend saying he would buy his hat. For some reason he needs it to be middlemanned by a trusted friend. The scammer then will steal that friends picture/name. Now usually it's easy to tell it's not real, but he will invite both into a conversation. This masks the account. He then sends a trade invite through there therefore bypassing the need to suspiciously add his victims with their friends account. It's very clever unfortunately.

Below are some screenshots of chats with him between my friend he was trying to scam and then me talking with him. I then talk with someone else who added me wondering what this guy was up to.

Name changes constantly, but he has both my names we used to track him down with in his name history. I went by both Dr. Quackers and Bipolar Bear
