What happened? Description:

On May 8th, I made a thread on /r/Dota2trade asking to trade my Unusual Courier, worth about $30, for a copy of Killing Floor 2. The scammer added me on Steam, then confirmed with me that I was looking to trade this courier for a copy of Killing Floor 2. I said yes, and said I'd like to use a middleman, but he said that wasn't necessary and said that he'd go first and then send me the trade offer. I agreed, seeing no possible way this could go wrong if he was going first. He got me a copy of the Killing Floor 2 Digital Deluxe Edition, and said he accidentally gotten the Deluxe Edition so he sent another trade offer in addition to the original. Knowing the value of the additional five requested items, I thought it was fair and hastily accepted both.

On May 19th, when opening Steam, I was greeted by a notification informing me that due to a payment issue, my copy of Killing Floor 2 had been revoked from my library. I have attempted to contact him on multiple occasions, but he has not acknowledged or replied to any of my messages. It is clear that he performed a chargeback in order to get the $40 for the purchase of Killing Floor 2 back, while keeping my items.​

Note here that the gift has been sent from a account other than his, which I did not notice until now. It is clear he did this in order to avoid any sort of liability on his primary account. I made the silly mistake of not taking screenshots of our conversation beforehand. I apologize for this. Because he was going first in the trade, I saw no foreseeable way that this could go wrong. However, I think the other evidence I provided proves infallibly that he is a scammer. The only other possibility would be if this was part of a master plan to sabotage him; but I don't think step one of that plan would be for me to transfer over $30 of Dota 2 items to him. I believe it is absolutely necessary that his SteamRep profile be marked so that he may not scam others as he did to me.
