Victim profile: 76561198041809679

What happened? Description:

This is a quite complicated rep Fraud. I luckily saw the "Invoice" fraud thread on the forums here on steamrep and i think i may have found a "nest" of these people.

I was first contacted by (PSYKOPATEN JOHNNY http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197987659922) on CSGOlounge for an exchange of Money for my knife. We discussed this and came to the agreement of trading steam wallet codes for my knife using a middleman.

I was then contacted by the reported user on another one of my trades for the same exchange, money for my knife. Came to the same conclusion of using wallet codes and a middleman. I then saw that the "PSYKOPATEN JOHNNY " guy had +rep'ed the reported user on his steam profile, and the other way around.

After further investigation I noticed that the two profiles listed above had many common friends. And those friends had +rep'ed eachother. The users i could find are; http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198147133673/

And possibly more. I may just be paranoid or i could be onto something, but enough of them are trade banned/ probation that i think they are all connected.​

May i ask what ive done wrong here ?

We do not handle reports for fake rep any longer.
We do not handle Steam wallet code scams. There is no way for us to verify a code through Steam.

Due to a backlog of scam reports, and to focus on the ones where items or money were lost, we are freezing the below types of reports. Please report these scam types to our partner communities if they accept them.

    • SteamRep does not maintain reputation threads and does not see profile rep as legitimate. These reports are best addressed by the communities that maintain such threads.
• CD Keys/Game Code scam reports:
  • Please report to the community where the trade originated and make a steam support ticket.https://support.steampowered.com/
    • Game keys/codes are impossible to verify as legitimate to begin with or what account the code is redeemed on. Before we only accepted if a user had solid proof, but now are rejecting all such reports.
• Phishing/hijacking account reports:
  • If you are phished/hijacked you need to make a steam support ticket ASAPhttps://support.steampowered.com/
  • Report phishing attempts to Valve by using the in-profile report system shown below
    • A lot of victims are not traders or even know they are marked on SR. Valve has made improvements to steam that mitigate the potential loss of items caused by phishers/hijackers; the original reason for tagging such users to begin with.
