What happened? Description:

I was trying to buy Dota 2 Caches from DotagiftX, which normally require 30 days of friendship to be eligble to trade because they are untradable and unmarketable otherwsie. This guy sent me what I now realize to be a fake wiki page saying that they just need to have mobile authenticator activated to avoid the delay.

So I entered the trade, and this guy said paypal doesn't work for him, so I paid him in a G2A gift card because of what I assumed to be Paypal being blocked from Russia. He later tried to get me to log into a fake website that does not have any real webpages other than login with steam. After I logged in, he told me that I needed to put all of my tradable Dota 2 items in a trade with a friend so that this error would stop appearing when he tried to give me the item I paid for. I assumed that they had already gotten in my account and was waiting for me to set up a trade offer to swap my items out, so I immediately changed my password and re-logged into steam.

I was feeling extremely uneasy so I decided to cancel the trade, and asked for a refund. He agreed, and I left a +rep on his profile comments, to which after he promptly removed me, and made his profile private. I cannot take a picture of the comment but it is there if you pretend to trade with him and add him to reveal his comments.

He was also extremely in a rush when I had to make an action or choice and then took his time explaining to me exactly how to follow through with every detail of his scam when I needed to play my part ( "Im tired" ) And has ready-to-share guide images for his victims.​

3. "Put all of your tradable dota 2 items in a trade with a friend so we can fix this bug so I can trade to you" (???)

just a pending trade just cancel the trade offer or decline the trade on another account once you received the set if you are making it in to a friend make sure to tell him do not accept or better if your friend is offline so no chance it is getting accepted since it will take not longer 2mins just quick

Yeah but I sent an offer with all my items to my friend when I got scammed and they got into my account via a fake website and then swapped the accounts so I would use my mobile authenticator to verify the fake trade
