    Scam Report

Report Type: [Rep Fraud] Impersonation with intent to defraud
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198169760122

    Victim profile: 76561198304439904

    What happened? Description:
I was asked to help my friend (currently named Musical Bean on Steam) to help him with selling his unusual FR-0 with orbiting planets for 12 keys. The buyer in question (named FireballNitro(inv never private) while he was trying to "trade" for the unusual) kept saying that my friend's unusual was somehow glitched and that he wanted a middle man to see if it wasn't glitched. I tried to define the buyer's definition of "glitched unusual" (I'm new to unusual trading) and he said that it's an unusual that will vanish once it's traded (red flags here, the item history was clean, item history will be mentioned in the evidence section). I told him sure, I'll play middleman. I called my friend on discord and we started chatting about this via voice chat. He agreed with me temporarily holding the unusual because he wanted to make profit. The buyer, once I got hold of the unusual, put me in a group chat with my so called "friend" (his steamrep will be put in the evidence section as well, but they seem to made their profile private). However, with confirmation via my actual friend on discord, the friend in the steam group chat was not actually my friend. The "friend" is talking about how he's already getting the keys from the buyer and that I should trade the unusual to him. I already understood what's going on, so I made sure I was giving the unusual back to my real friend and sent it back to its original owner. The buyer kept talking how he already gave his keys to my friend and that I should give it back to my friend (the friend being the "friend"). I checked his steamrep and it looks like the buyer was banned for FoG and Steamrep. I showed him this and he went silent. I did insult the buyer, but I believe this was justified. Meanwhile, the "friend" quickly changed his profile to match the look of mine and started talking to my friend and demanding he should give the unusual to "me". When this failed, both the buyer and the impersonator did not speak anymore and removed us from their friends list.

(Please note that the light gray icon at the second Musical Bean user is my actual friend, whilst the other one is the impostor)
-My part of the conversation with the scammer
((note: I sadly closed my chat window with the scammer and blocked him on steam, resulting in a loss of some valuable screenshots. I did not cross my mind that I needed the entire chat log, and I apologise for that. However, I tried my best to dig some screenshots from what I sent to my friend as red flags. I hope it will suffice.))

-A part of the conversation between my friend and the scammer (after the scammer got silent towards me)

(Note: I did not give him a second chance, What he is saying is a lie.)[IMG]
(An attempt to get my friend in a group chat with the imposter)
(I did not unfriend my friend, red flag. )
(the price asked for the unusual was 12 keys, specified in the backpack.tf's Classified list)
-My friend talking to the impostor when the impostor changed his profile to match mine
    [IMG]
(Note that his name says "SharkDaddy." with the star symbols. I did not use a . after my username, which is another red flag. Also, I did not get any keys during the trading process. And me talking about scamming the guy back?)
