What happened? Description:

The scammer added me as a friend on Steam. He wanted to trade for my knife. He asked me what I wanted for exchange. I wanted another knife and he agreed to obtain it. But before he wanted to know if i had a real life friend who could confirm that i wouldn't troll him by backing out of the trade after he obtained the knife. At that point i suspected a possible scam attempt but i didn't back out because the offer was pretty good and I wanted to see how it goes. So I send him the name of my friend and he starts a group conversation in Steam with who I thought was my friend. But an associate of his created an identical fake profile of my firend and personated her. I didn't notice this until it was too late. He now asked me to give my knife to my friend for some shallow reasons. I agreed because I wasn't aware of the possibility that someone could fake my friends profile that fast and so I give my knife to the associate of the scammer.​
