    Scam Report

Report Type: [Money] PayPal scam or scam attempt
Virtual item type involved: [CSGO] Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Items

    Accused profile: 76561198207578771

    Victim profile: 76561198024339319

    What happened? Description:
The Accused Account opened a thread in the CS:GO forum at Steam. He said he wants to buy skins and pays PayPal up front.
I already knew this will be likely paypal invoice scam.
    But this guy was "funnier".

I showed him my knife and asked for $50, he said "sure". I gave him my paypal adress.

He then went to Paypal.com and used their "forgot password" function and typed in my paypal email.

My phone rang and I received two SMS from Paypal with authentication codes.

The accused account then proceeded to tell me in chat:
"It says to complete this transfer their has been a code sent to, 01*****6045. To complete the transfer you must re enter code"

Would I have gave him such a code, he would have been able to login into my PayPal account and
possibly send money around or gather infos about the stored payment methods (bank account, credit card ect).

    Attached are some screenshots.

    The short chat we had.

    Attached are two screenshots.
Showing the thread that the opened at Steam Forum.
The short chat we had, where he asks for the Paypal authentication code that I received on my phone, because he used paypal.com "forgot password" function.

Unfortunately, SteamRep does not accept reports dealing with hijacking/phishing/hacking -Due to current Investigative Policy
