    Scam Report

Report Type: [Money] PayPal scam or scam attempt
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198212979195

    Victim profile: 76561198176883097

    What happened? Description:
Accused added me as a friend, I initiated chat thinking maybe it was someone from the community wanting to trade (I usually only add people I know irl or people I trade with).
They asked me whether or not I still played tf2 - which was the first red flag, then they continued asking if I had any tf2 tournament experience (which was the last red flag for me as I don't play tf2 competitively) and they needed a second teammate.

After that, I ended the conversation and reported the account through steam and blocked them.

I just wanna make clear that I didn't initiate any trades with this user - when I checked their profile, it was blank. They also have an usually large amount of items for someone who has 0 hours on record for TF2 (I sourced their hours from rep.tf - screenshot below) or any other Valve title.
I also saw that this wasn't their original name, I've noticed that scammers will try to change their profile name thinking it'll prevent them from being reported (it doesn't).
