What happened? Description:

A person named Vault Hunter randomly added me on Steam, and after glossing over his account, I immediately knew that his account was suspicious, as he had a link to a backpack that wasn't his, and his inventory was set to private.
I accepted the add with caution, and, he greeted me with a "smile". He begun asking for some trades with my TF2 items, beginning first with my Australium Tomislav, and offering for some other items, all of which I turned down, except for the tomislav, to keep him intrigued.
After a day of silence, he comes back, and I tell him I'm still interested. From here, he attempts a common marketplace.tf scam, but not before asking me some personal questions. For self-security, I assume the persona of James.
Afterwards, he guides me through the steps of "selling" my australium through marketplace.tf, though he does something odd. Instead of telling me to list my item, Vault Hunter had led me to add the exact item I was selling, to my cart to checkout. At this point, a fake bot account sends a trade offer, trying to appear as legitimate as possible. I turn down the offer and break the persona, and block him.
This person was trying to impersonate a user underneath the same name, which (oddly) has a backpack full of nothing but TF2 keys.​

The files uploaded are the Steam conversation that we had, the trade offer sent by the fake bot, and the scammer's Steam profile page (as of the time this was uploaded).​

I'd like to add that, in the middle of this time period, he (presumably by accident) reveals his actual inventory to be nothing but crates and weapons, further proving that he is impersonating the user Vault Hunter, as the discrepancy between the two inventories.
