1. Multiple games are being used to create fake items for CS:GO, DOTA2, and TF2 that are difficult to differentiate from real ones. Carefully check the game for each item you receive to make sure it's from the game you expect. Pay close attention to any warning messages you see in the trade window about games you haven't played before. Read more.

    Scam Report

Report Type: [Rep Fraud] Impersonation with intent to defraud
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198276407621

    Victim profile: 76561198051441053

    What happened? Description:
So I was added by https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198205622915 who was interested in my golden frying pan that I currently have listed on Marketplace.tf. He told me that he wanted to offer me keys but wanted to 'verify' my items using a 'Steam moderator'. Obviously it was a scam but I played along anyway.

He told me to add https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198276407621 so I did.
After talking to me for a bit, he tried to convince me that he was a Steam moderator so he gave me 'proof' were two images, one showing me a certificate that he was a steam developer and the other was some Info stating that he has the power to check 'verify' items. He also was in a In a non-Steam game called Steam Moderator™. He tried to get me to withdraw my item from Marketplace.tf so I can send him a trade offer for him to 'verify'.

After messing with him and wasting his time, he got more aggressive and his status changed from non-Steam game called Steam Moderator™ to Steam Banning ID: 76561198051441053 Pie 89%. He said once it reaches 100% I’ll be banned from Steam.
After I was done messing with him, he deleted me and his status changed back to non-Steam game called Steam Moderator™.

@Pie Always be sure to report the user you were FIRST involved with not the other or others - it makes it difficult to see who initiated the contact and that is who should be reported. You then only need to reference other users involved as you did in that follow up reply.
