What happened? Description:

My friend ostrik fell for a fake item check scam. Someone useing a fake middle man/ item checker bot took the items with a private profile as the fake item checker then quickly traded the items to the scammer and deleted the item checking account. The items are currently in the account of the accused, they have almost no hours in tf2, the account is basically brand new.​

Right after the scam occurred, the scammer not only blocked the victim on the fake middle man, but also on the scammers main account. As well, the fake middleman account was deleted. The chat logs don't exist right now. The best ive got is the victims account of what happened, which is in the chat I've linked.

Proof of scam:

The victim has all the trade logs with every item that was scammed.



The bot used the name "Item Database" in order to seem like an actual item checker. All items were sent by the victim who thought it was a legitimate item check. Items lost include a terror-watt honchos headgear, smoking tricorne, aces Gatsby, strange FN rocket launcher skin, and a bunch of other items, they can all be seen in the screen caps.

Identity proof:

Right after the victim realized the scam, I was contacted and he told me what had happened. Using the items histories on backpack.tf I found what account now had the items. The items appear to have went straight from the fake middleman to the scammers account. Every item that was scammed from the victim is now in the possession of the accused account. The items all appeared here very soon after the scam occurred.

If you check the histories on the smoking tricone, the aces Gatsby, the terror-watt honchos, the gold botkiller wrench, the woodland warrior, etc you can see that they were in possession of the victim, then they were all traded and within a few minutes of the scam, were all in possession of this account.
