    Scam Report

Report Type: [Rep Fraud] Impersonation with intent to defraud
Virtual item type involved: [CSGO] Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Items

    Accused profile: 76561198291774476

    Victim profile: 76561198026577539

    What happened? Description:
Victim is being impersonated, I tried adding him to let him know, still hasn't added me back. I decided to take it upon myself to report the impersonator as the victim has a decently expensive inventory around 700$ worth of CSGO skins. I thought it'd make sense to report the impersonator early on before he has any chances to scam any CSGO skins.

    Screenshots are attached down below.

    Provide Evidence:
    Screenshots are attached down below.
I show URL of the "vault inventory" and I show both profiles of the accused and victim.

@LeSombra In what way were you in contact with the accused?

@ЩĄ | Horse I'm not in contact with the accused at all, I see on other forums people just report impersonators without being in contact with them and they get marked. 99% of the time people who have vault accounts link them, the accused profile says that's his vault for "safety" and during my time of trading for the past 7 years, usually that raises a red flag. Like "feel free to check my vault account for safety purposes" that's obvious this guy is trying to impersonate with intent to defraud. What more info do I need? Do I need to contact the impersonated to verify that's not his vault?

Ok we don't want users making reports like this unless they have contact - there are thousands of these users around and we make no intentions on going after people just cause.
This isn't what SR is here for. The added context is very handy to keep a user from appealing and winning.
While I'm going to go ahead and accept report (adding another screenshot of my own) from now on you must be in contact with a user your reporting to show context around the scam attempt/scam itself.
The last thing we want are users racing to go report users like this - we just don't have the resources to do that.
You can report every single one of them at any time directly to Valve.
In order to do that, you have to:
    1. Visit the accuseds profile
    2. Click MORE drop-down located at the top right of the page
    3. Choose REPORT VIOLATION
    4. Select the violation, then describe it and provide the evidence
    5. Click SUBMIT REPORT

Click here to view an animated gif that shows how to report a violation.
