    Scam Report

Report Type: [Item Fraud] Misrepresenting virtual items
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198309520995

    Victim profile: 76561198044007267

    What happened? Description:
Using two steam accounts to scam me of an unusual TF2 item (Cloud 9 Little Buddy). The first being Nigel Thornberry and the second Johnny Test which I will refer to as "NT" and "JT" respectively to make it easier. I will provide the Info Block for Johnny Test at the end of this description.
I do not have the chat history for NT, since I had closed it after he unfriended me, but I do have the entire chat history with JT on my phone and part of it on my computer steam client. Both accounts had low hours in TF2, and little items which I had at first been cautious about, but decided to ignore them, which I shouldn't have.
First started with NT adding me offering lowcraft TF2 items in exchange for my unusual. I had said I wasn't interested in the lowcraft, so he suggested he try and sell his lowcraft for TF2 keys and buy my unusual afterwards. A couple of days later (24/12/17 Australia), JT adds me with the intention to buy my unusual for the 23 keys I had listed it for. But then said that he had gotten the Cloud 9 and Circling Heart effects mixed up, where he said he was only interested in buying Circling Heart unusuals and lowcraft items. At this point, I thought I could connect the two for them to make a trade. I sent NT's profile link to JT, but JT was hesitant to add NT after I told JT that NT told me he was busy in game at that moment. Then JT asked me if I could get the item from NT and trade it with JT. JT offered 26 keys for the lowcraft item, and so I proceeded to tell NT of this, who then said he was looking for more, and in turn said he'd be willing to do a one for one trade with the lowcraft Tartan Spartan #46 for my unusual Little Buddy. (I should have checked the price of the lowcraft). While I do not have screenshots of the chat history with NT, I do have one of the trade offer going through. This is where NT removed me from their friends list. I then sent the offer for 26 keys JT had been offering for the lowcraft, but began saying that no offers were coming through to him. He sent an imgur link of nothing appearing, and then he asked me to send one of my end. From there it became a back and forth of trying to send trade offers to each other, with nothing appearing. JT had suggested that since he wasn't on the team client, it was possible that was the reason why the trade offers were not going through, which I had no knowledge of whether or not that was possible, so I agreed that maybe that was the case. This should have been another alarm bell for me. I then asked a friend to see if he was able to get my trade offer, which he did and suggested that it was possibly the same person or two people scamming me, as he had been scammed in the past the same way. I then begun to speculate that I had been scammed. I asked for another screenshot of JT's end, where his sent offers had not changed from the first one, and the incoming offers had gone up by one. I then checked both NT's and JT's backpack.tf profiles, where the dates for when they had joined were incredibly close, just a bit more than a month. I went through the history of the TF2 keys in JT's backpack with some of them going through the same people's backpacks, with multiple appearing in JT's backpack more than once. I'm not sure if this amounts to anything, but it was definitely suspicious. One of the people the keys had gone through "Daephid" I noticed was in the same CSGO steam group as NT and it appeared that Daephid and NT were both admins of the same group. So it's possible there are a few people seemingly from the CSGO community working together to scam TF2 items.

I see no scam here - what you provided doesn't back up the story.
One of them has YOU suggesting the other user.
Don't see any collusion to scam so archiving.
