What happened? Description:

Preface: I know you don't accept phishing reports, but the nature of this scam is so elaborate, I believe it at least warrants a SteamRep ban on both of the accounts involved in the scam.

The owner of this account added and contacted me in an attempt to steal items or the account itself using a phishing site called "csgoindex.gg". This was done with another account used as bait and 'proof' that a transaction would in fact happen.

The owner of this account asked which items I would be interested in trading - and asked me to fetch the current asking price on external trading sites. First he wanted to know the price of the knife on cs.money, which is a well known and trustworthy site, and then asked to check the price again on csgoindex.gg. I had never heard of this site prior to this chat, so I searched around for information on the site itself - and it seems people have tested and confirmed that it is indeed a phishing site.

When being confronted with this, I was promptly unfriended and blocked by the owner of this account. A screenshot of the chat is posted here: https://i.imgur.com/HAkoqaO.jpg

You can also see from the image that he screenshots the inventory of the other account in question (https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198077446508) to prove he has 'expensive item skins' to trade with. As you can tell, this is a screenshot of the secondary account preparing to trade with my own. Both accounts are used to lure people into the phishing site - and the account that isn't used to contact the to-be victims, is the one that holds all of the expensive skins. It is also worth noting that as of this report, the two accounts used for the fraud are NOT friends on Steam, likely to further 'distance' them from each other should a link be made.​

If this is still something you don't want to touch, then that is fine. The report has been sent to Valve either way.

Upon reading through everything again, it seems that the photo the scammer sent me was manipulated. It says at the top that we have been friends for 1 day, but I was never friends with the second account. It is more likely that the first person that contacted me is acting alone.
