    Scam Report

Report Type: [Rep Fraud] Impersonation with intent to defraud
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198349073402

    Victim profile: 76561198046598283

    What happened? Description:
So out of the blue this guy "Peep" (76561198349073402) adds me and tells me he accidentally reported me to steam support, and the "Steam Admin" was mad and I had to tell the Steam Admin that the report he made was false (why couldn't he do it himself? I don't know...). Then he tells me to add someone named "YeeA Sports" (76561198126948240), and that person is supposed to be the steam admin who's going to do everything. I send a report, nothing happens, I tell Peep and he tells me that the Steam Admin will respond. Suddenly someone named "[SR] WakeboardWeb" adds me. The [SR] tag really threw me off, so I immediately checked this person's profile and steamrep page and sure enough, they're banned from steamrep. So now I know for sure that this is a legit scam attempt and not some misguided kid.
I play along, and WakeboardWeb tells me that they'll have to verify my items. I immediately catch on that I'm going to have to trade my items to him to "verify" them. So I play along, asking assurance from Peep at the same time to make sure that this is what's supposed to happen. Then, after I give my trade offer URL to the "admin", I get a trade offer from "Database: T5N3F" (76561198873815247). I accept the trade offer, knowing that it has to go through my phone first. Once I do that, I drop the act and let them all know what's really happening, and they all disappear into thin air.
I recorded everything and posted it on youtube, the video is below

    Provide Evidence:

    Jason:
Hello how can I help you?

    [5:30 PM]
    Peep:
    Hello there
    thanks for accept

    [5:31 PM]
    Jason:
    how can i help you?

    [5:32 PM]
    Peep:
i may have done something on accident
I accidentally reported you for having a duplicated items that I've sent on Steam Support instead of someone else and the Admin gave me a warning about it.
I'm very sorry please don't get mad at me cuz I feel bad about what I've done
    I hope you understand.

    [5:34 PM]
    Jason:
steam support is smart enough to not take action against me since they double/triple check everything
and why would owning duplicated items be a crime?

    [5:35 PM]
    Peep:
no it was a mistake mate report mate
Can you please help me explain to the admin and clarify that my report was an accident?

    [5:36 PM]
    Jason:
    sure

    [5:37 PM]
    Peep:
    Here's the admin

    Steam Community :: YeeA Sports
    Welcome.
    https://steamcommunity.com/id/andrewalexander

    [5:37 PM]
    Jason:

    Peep:

i am sincerely sorry for the trouble again I just want you to aware of about the pending report I've made

    [5:40 PM]
    Jason:
    ok i added him

    [5:40 PM]
    Peep:
okay keep me updated about what happen

    [5:42 PM]
    Jason:
he doesn't seem to have accepted my friend invite

    [5:43 PM]
    Peep:
i told him to add you

    [5:47 PM]
    Jason:
is the steam admin called "[SR] WakeboardWeb"?

    [5:47 PM]
    Peep:
    yes
    so what admin says?

    [5:48 PM]
    Jason:
"There's been a report in your account due to some duplicated items which your (items)and other items are involved .Can you make a legal statement on this and if possible make a counter report regarding to this issue. i want you to make a proper appeal on the said issue."
    that's what he told me

    [5:48 PM]
    Peep:
tell him what should i do
    please keep me updated

    [5:51 PM]
    Jason:
he has asked me for my trade URL to verify my items
it's taking all my items to the database, is this OK?

    [5:53 PM]
    Peep:
    Yes
just follow him so that he can remove the pending report that i made

    [5:54 PM]
    Jason:
    alright
It's interesting though, you found a good way to make alt accounts with a clean history. Nice job

I need a FULL screenshot of the trade offer you got - open it in a web browser, hover your mouse pointer over the users name so it shows up the URL at the bottom.
Full screenshot that and provide pls.

I also need screenshots of the chat logs between you and the fake admin - I don't see those. Videos are not acceptable evidence.

    and who is [SR] WakeboardWeb

There's an inconsistency in the following pictures of the chat logs between me and the fake admin. It says on the left that it's from "1500lego". This user is irrelevant and it is simply a random person I chose from my friends list so that I could initiate a chat session between me and the fake admin since I closed the window. I had to reestablish a chat session so that I could retrieve the chat history, and I resorted to hacking the ID3 and ID64 into the javascript:OpenFriendChat( 'URL64', IP3 ); function from someone that's already in my friends list (I found the trick here (last post))
If there's any issue with this please let me know

Oh I'm sorry about the inconsistency I thought was there. I thought the icon on the top left was of the current user talking to you, while it's actually a friend that commonly talks to you and therefore appears at the top of your friends list.

Thanks, will review again soon - nothing else needed at this time and there is no need to post anything more.
Feel free to review what you have provided and take the time to see what things you can do to prevent running into users like this in the future.

Not tagging the YeeA Sports user - there isn't enough evidence to suggest they were involved..could have been a wrong user posted in the chat for all we know.
