What happened? Description:

So my friend, Panzermask (Set as the victim) contacted me telling me some sketchy dude talking to him. I answered his call on discord and we tried to piece together how his scam functioned.

Is started with him coming to my friend and asking him if he ever has tried to cheat or scam. My friend obviously answered no and he told my friend he has been reported (never got told why, but i assume its scamming or fraud)

He then pulled out a photoshopped image of a "admin" view looking at my friends profile.
He told him he should try to fix this by adding "Christopher Lawrence" (Who I'm going to call Chris). The continuing chat with extence is just my friend keeping him busy while i talk to the Chris.

(At this point i changed my profile name and picture identical to what my friend had.
Even though i wasn't directly an offer i thought i should add my profile in here too)



Firstly i assumed that this was the same person as extence, but i think they are 2 different users working together, telling from how they both typed at the same time.

When i added me what he could help me with and i responded with what extence told my friend about the reports and the scam and cheat accusations.
He proceeded using a bot-ish type talk telling me that I'm flagged for having items related to fraud in my inventory. (He was actually kinda stupid not to check that i was the same person cause i did not have the items)

I continued on acting scared and dumb and he told me that i could appeal and prove that my account is in good condition. He continued on that i would be safe and that if it went through its going to be fine. Reassuring stuff. He continued asking me where i got the items, i asked my friend how he actually got the items and i wrote what he told me + some extra.
He proceeded to ask me what kind of player i was and if i was a trader etc.

At this point is where i realized what type of scam it was, it was a "verification scam". He told me that i needed to scan my items and that i would kindly send my items to this account:

He said that it would take 2-3 minutes. He continued by asking if I knew what items were affected and sent me a list of the items.
(At this point I got all the evidence i needed so I started to troll)
Me being on another account, i told him that I don't even own those items and sent my inventory to him. He said if my friends account was my account and i simply answered "yikes".​
