    Scam Report

Report Type: [Rep Fraud] Impersonation with intent to defraud
Virtual item type involved: [CSGO] Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Items

    Accused profile: 76561198351772415

    Victim profile: 76561198137581716

    What happened? Description:
The type of scam attempt was an item verification scam. Three accounts, all controlled by the same person. were involved in the scam attempt.

    Green Light - http://steamrep.com/search?q=76561197968073552

    AzzyTheMLGPro - http://steamrep.com/search?q=76561198272292181

    And the accused's account, Item's Data Base Program© - https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198351772415

I chose the Item's Data Base Program© account since it is not yet Banned by SR, while the other two are.

    Here is what happened:

A few weeks ago, a guy impersonating "AzzyTheMLGPro" added me to "trade". I saw that his inventory was private and suspected he was going for my AK47 | Aquamarine Revenge. He asked me whether we wanted to trade and I agreed. But I delayed him quite a bit. After that, he said that he needed to verify my items. That was a dead giveaway that he was a scammer. So I played along. He asked my to add "Green Light" as a friend. "Green Light" is also impersonating. "Green Light" added me to a group chat. He asked us to list the items we wanted to "verify". I did so, and then I idled to do something else. He told me not to waste his time. He then presumed I went to sleep(I told "AzzyTheMLGPro" before that I would need to leave at around 11 pm).
2 days later (GMT +8:00 1 pm 1/7/2018) we continued the chat. We typed in the items we wanted to "verify" again. "Green Light" then proceeded to warn us about "what will happen" if we don't cooperate. He revealed that he controlled both accounts since he accidentally replied to himself with the wrong account during the process of "verification" ("Green Light" said something, then I replied with 'Okay'. I expected "AzzyTheMLGPro" to reply but instead "Green Light" replied 'okay sir'). "Green Light" then posted a trade link to "Item's Data Base Program©". I sent a Mann Co. Supply Crate instead of listed items and confirmed the trade on Steam Mobile Authenticator. However, "Item's Data Base Program©" declined the trade. "Green Light"/"AzzyTheMLGPro"/"Item's Data Base Program©" then realized I was trolling him but still tried to threaten me with trade bans. After he was tired of chasing after my items, he unfriended me from both accounts. He got nothing from me (the offer for the supply crate was declined, and I never sent the offer for my knife and other skins).

I sent a supply crate instead of my items in fear of accidentally losing them

The accused's (Item's Data Base Program©) profile. It is private but it was public when he wanted to trade.

One of the scammer's (AzzyTheMLGPro) accounts. The account I first encountered. The scammer used this account to propose a trade with me.

The middleman impersonator (Green Light). "AzzyTheMLGPro" asked me to contact this account to ask for middleman service.

Some screenshots are blurrier because I took it from a video I recorded with OBS in case I missed anything.
Some screenshots of the profiles are from Chrome since I can no longer get to their profiles on Steam but I have their SteamID64.

I cannot paste chat history since they unfriended me and I cannot message them through profile or friends list anymore.

Feel free to ask for anything else, I will be glad to cooperate.

You should report the user you were FIRST in contact with - not the other way around.
This user is already tagged - there is nothing more we can do to them.
You should have just ignored/deleted them and moved on.

Next time don't choose to report whoever - follow procedure and report the user you were FIRST in contact with...if that user is already tagged - ignore them and move on vs risk contact.
