The user and his accomplice added me with the attempt to trade for my Neutron Star Big Topper. Yarg (the initiator) mentioned that he had been banned in the past, as was apparent on his SteamRep profile. He said that he was banned for having 'fraudulent items', and asked if the item was clean. I told him I wasn't sure, and that I would withdraw it from my marketplace.tf store to check on bp.tf. As I was doing that, he said he wanted a third party account to verify whether the item was clean (as if a link to the bp.tf item history wasn't enough), so I added the two profiles he linked me to, and the second one replied almost immediately, claiming to be a 'SteamRep administrator.' And yet, when I checked his steam rep, it revealed him to be just an average user.

When I told the initiator that the admin had yet to respond to me, he grew upset, because I suspect that this was either his account running in a virtual box or his friend, said that I was trolling him, and then removed me. The accomplice did the same.

I'm sure exactly what to file this as, but because the accomplice (the person that I am reporting) was claiming to be a SteamRep admin while not being so, I am filing it here. If there is another category that it would fit better into, please let me know, and I shall file it there.

i was sanctioned with trade ban that tme before when i was unconsciously holding fraud items on my inventory.

That's one thing I've always wondered. As far as I can tell, there's no difference between a dupe and an original. If you scam someone, now that's a different story.

There are Steamcommunity admin who helps traders to avoid fraud items and scammed items , they can banned any accounts which they see fit to a discription of any scam attempts..

For what it's worth, it was a good scam attempt. If your friend hadn't tried to pretend to be a SteamRep admin, I almost would've bought it
But, when you actually check his steamrep profile....
Well, you need to work on your scam a little more, before anyone falls for it
