What happened? Description:

I was attempting to set up a trade where this individual would send me a steam code in exchange for a few of my skins. This individual added me as a friend on steam after I had made a post on the community trading forums. After a drawn out conversation of him wanting to send the first 14 digits of the code, me to send the skins, and then he would send the final digit after, I got him to agree on sending the code first, and then I would send the items after. He sent me the code, insisting that I do not redeem it until I had sent him the skins, to ensure that I did not scam him. I got a weird feeling about it, and decided to redeem the code anyways, still planning on sending him the items, until steam told me that the code had already been redeemed. I informed him of this, as well as that I would no longer be sending him any items, and he accused me of scamming him. He told me to retry the code, insisting that it was valid, and that I was scamming him. After a few minutes, he informed me that he had intentionally given me a false code, as a "test".

I will include images of our chats, as well as the steam message saying the code had been redeemed. I do not know if wallet codes show up in the steam transaction history, but I will include a screenshot of that too. All screenshots will include timestamps.​

Screenshots uploaded below. I just sent screenshots of the chat as the "trade" was beginning, nothing of our back and fourth deciding on "pricing" or the actual contents of the trade. I will save the full chat window, and am completely willing to send screenshots of this section of our chat if necessary.​

i do not believe, "i sent him an invalid code during a trade, and because it was invalid he didnt send me skins" is a valid reason for a trade ban, but if you would like to fight me on that case, please push the issue
i believe that "sent me an invalid code telling me to not redeem it until after i had sent over items" is a more bannable argument, and my current one against you

I just read the thread about types of reports that you guys do not review, and I am very sorry to have submitted this report. I did not realize that this was one of the blacklisted scam reports before posting, but do not know how to delete the report. Very sorry to inconvenience you guys! I will do my best to educate myself on this service, as I hope to use it more often!
