What happened? Description:

A friend on my steam profile notified me to let me know that they had accidentally reported me to the accused user (who they thought was a steam admin) for duping a user's items when they had meant to report another user.

The person who accidentally reported me asked me to get in touch with the "admin" to let them know that I wasn't the one who was actually supposed to be reported. I went to the "admin's" profile to friend them so I could send them a message, which was a huge red flag because there's no such thing as a steam admin, especially one that you would message on steam to get help from.

Upon making contact with the self proclaimed "admin", they told me that I was not actually involved in the issue, and that they would "lift the pending ban." They also spoke with terrible grammar, and sent me a screenshot of my steam profile that showed their scary looking "ban button" to try and show their authority.​

Hello. I do not believe that the first user was involved in starting the scam attempt. However if it seems that this is the case I will provide the info:

I've had this person on my friends list for maybe shy of two years, and we used to play together on a TF2 server. It's probably been a year since I've been contacted by them. I'm pretty sure this user wasn't starting a scam, and was just under the impression that the other user was an actual "steam admin."
However, I have seen a few comments on the "admin's" profile from users who have been "accidentally reported" by their friend on steam, so it looks like I'm not alone. I hope I'm not leaving any important info out.
Also, thanks for banning the fake admin
