    Scam Report

Report Type: [Other] Any other fraudulent behavior
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198402500756

    Victim profile: 76561198065369699

    What happened? Description:
New user on my TF2 discord (the victim) reported being threatened with a hijacking from a profile the accused had apparently previously stolen ("floofy" in the screenshots attached, https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198453697431 this hijacking has already been reported to valve). As shown in screenshots, the accused claimed (through the stolen account) that he was using a "hacking program" to change account information of anyone who disobeyed his wishes, and then sent the victim a trade request from his primary account (the one linked as the accused) and directed them to accept it. They did so, believing the accused's claim that he would know if they reported him to valve or declined the trade request because of some screenshots the accused sent them of the "change your password" screen used to retrieve account access. (As I said, this is a new user, so they fell for it.)

The victim at least recognized that they could ask other people for help, but unfortunately had already confirmed the trade at this point and was merely asking for more people to report the accused to steam under the impression that it would get their items back. After learning that valve would most likely not be returning the items, the victim decided to permanently quit TF2 and would not respond to requests for more information on the circumstances.

    Provide Evidence:
Screenshots include, in order, a screenshot of the message the victim initially left in my discord, the initial conversation with the hijacked account (including the claim about the "hacking program"), a screenshot of the trade, the "proof" the accused sent the victim claiming that they could change the victim's password, a screenshot of the accused's current steam inventory (their backpack is public) showing the items the victim traded away, a screenshot of the victim's backpack.tf history specifically highlighting the removed items (many of which are visible in the accused's steam inventory, the rest have already been sold to mannco.trade bots by the accused), a screenshot of those same items in the accused's backpack.tf backpack, and a screenshot of the history of one of the items.

I tried to get as much information about the situation as I could, apologies if this is too much/too little, I've never had to submit one of these reports before.

Unfortunately, SteamRep does not accept reports dealing with hijacking/phishing/hacking -Due to current Investigative Policy
    http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/investigative-policy.140101/

This includes anything to do with API key requests, wrong or misspelled URL's and sites requesting logins of any type in attempts to steal your credentials.
These are phishing/hijacking attempts and are not to be reported to SteamRep!

You can report the user to Valve instead
In order to do that, you have to:
    1. Visit the accuseds profile
    2. Click MORE drop-down located at the top right of the page
    3. Choose REPORT VIOLATION
    4. Select the violation, then describe it and provide the evidence
    5. Click SUBMIT REPORT
