    Scam Report

Report Type: [Item Fraud] Misrepresenting virtual items
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198405558674

    Victim profile: 76561198831402727

    What happened? Description:
First we had met on a trade server, and he adds me to negotiate for his '72 Most Wanted Taunt, and wants to sell it to me for 8 keys, and says that it is a huge discount. I know that the unusual was really worth about ~2 keys, but I was willing to see if I could snag it for a lower price than he suggested. We wait for a while, and he sends me an offer to sell his unusual to me. So when I point out that the total worth of my items that he was trying to trade for was worth about ~12 keys, he immediately begins to say that those prices are wrong, and gives me a horribly skewed price for those items. I show him my own calculations, even using the lowest buy orders on backpack, proving him wrong, and then he begins to say that his unusual taunt is worth a lot more than what he is asking me for, and sends fake, edited screen shots of his backpack on backpack.tf. I show him my screenshots of his own backpack where it shows the price of the taunt (4.25 keys, but only ~2 keys for buy and sell orders), and he goes on this monologue of how there's this other guy with his bot and how he quicksold it for 15 keys, but I checked that person's inventory history, and that person has never had a '72 Most Wanted. I tell him that, and ask him to send direct proof of that person ever owning or selling that particular unusual taunt, but send no adequate proof, only sending these blank photos. After I point this out, he just begins to beg for me to accept the trade. Well at that point he needs to cut the bullshit out and I am just going to decline his trade and unadd him. Plus, he also has -4 rep on backpack, and he has a history of trying to scam people and lowballing.

    Summary:
Guy adds me and manipulates prices, tries to scam with skewered prices, fakes that other people have sold it at that price, proven wrong by just a little research.

SR doesn't get involved in pricing/value disputes regardless what anyone lists or what any site lists and says something is valued.
If you do not like the offer decline it and move on.
    Declined.
