What happened? Description:

Phishing attempt? Person wanted to see history of an unusual on another site even though I proved it was clean by giving them the backpack.tf link. I asked what site they may prefer seeing it from, they gave me a link to a website, which could have a fake ssl certificate, https://tf2trades.com/ .

The site quite obviously looks like a scam site, any and all interaction makes a pop-up wanting you to sign in, "Please login using your steam to sell and buy items". When I attempted to log in, trusting the site for whatever reason, it wanted me to re-enter my details. I checked on another tab to see if I was still signed in, surely enough, I was. So first flag this was a phishing attempt. Second flag is me realizing that any interaction with the site was denied by that pop-up, trying to encourage me to sign in.

User could use the site to steal items after the other "logs in". It was also quite sketchy they wanted to pay a lot more for the unusual than what I listed it as on backpack.tf. Maybe it's a lure for the "tf2trades" site.​
