    Scam Report

Report Type: [Other] Any other fraudulent behavior
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198876366433

    Victim profile: 76561198060052926

    What happened? Description:
I was scammed off my unusual bat hat.

The scammer hijacked my account and impersonated other players and cancelled trade requests, making me give my unusual to another different person.

At first, he asked me that he needed to see the stats of my unusual using a site known as "Skinsfinder.com"
I don't trust clicking other links so I decided to look up the site myself and I entered the log in details
Then the scammer abruptly said there's no need and that he'd buy it from market place.tf

As a person who have never used the website before, I made a trade offer with a bot so I can deposit my unusual there and he can buy it from me.
So I opened my mobile authenticator so I could confirm the offer, It took a while until it opened.
I confirmed the offer until I realized that the other trades have been cancelled and the person who I actually gave the items to was an impersonator, the alternate account of the scammer.

I figured that the scammer got my log-in details from the site that I have entered my information in, even though I haven't clicked the link and I instead thought it was a legitimate website used for checking stats.

He hijacked my account and cancelled trade offers to the account that I intended to trade with, and made the same exact trades to an impersonator of the account with the same username and profile picture

The user who added me is named "Louis Vuitton B> Unusuals W/ keysMPTF"

Due to changes in our investigative policy, we do not accept phishing/hijacking reports anymore. As such, I am archiving this report.

    http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/notice-changes-to-investigation-policy.47952/

Please keep in mind that users posting phishing links are often phished/hijacked themselves (if not a brand new throwaway account) and their account is being used to try and hijack even more accounts. For that reason, it's best to leave these cases to Valve/Steam as we do not have the resources to handle such cases. Additionally, the victim would have to appeal their tag once they regained access to their account.

We recommend you report the accused to Valve. In order to do that, you have to:

    1. Visit the accused's profile
    2. Click the MORE drop-down located at the top right of the page
    3. Choose REPORT VIOLATION.
    4. Select the violation, then describe it and provide the evidence
    5. Click SUBMIT REPORT.

Click here to view an animated gif that shows how to report a violation.

In addition, we have a (work in progress) guide on recovering from account hijackings, including what happened in your case. I recommend looking it over, contacting Steam Support about your items, and updating/running your anti-virus.
