What happened? Description:

The individual added me as a friend sometime ago, I'm sure if he tried to add me, I would have noticed that he was impersonating my friend, but this individual must have had me added for quite a long time. So when I received a request from who I thought was my friend, I had stupidly handed over my items thinking that they were in possession of a close friend of mine in real life. In order to convince me that he was who he was impersonating, he name dropped another friend of mine and the person he was impersonating which lent him more credibility. Upon trading the items to him, I was expecting to play with him, and even joked around saying that I had been "In a scam situation" which is a joke from a podcast that my friend and I used to enjoy. Unfortunately I was more correct than I could have hoped.​

Okay, so to answer the first question, they impersonated my friend who's steam name is "PurpleFanto" by changing their account name to "Purple Fanto", I am not sure why it is that when viewing the profile, it doesn't show any aliases other than the one they currently have, but I know that wasn't their name when they scammed me and as I said before: I didn't realize I was actually scammed until much later that evening, so the chat logs had the new name: Fanta is Colla. It is clear that he impersonated my friend because he has an identical picture to him. I am not sure who else would have a picture that my friend made years ago specifically for his name. It's an altered version of Fanta's logo, and it is obvious that he made it for his account because it has an o at the end.

As for PurpleFanto's steamID64: It is 76561198053123816
