    Scam Report

Report Type: [Gambling] Fake gambling website
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198982907706

    Victim profile: 76561198011688732

    What happened? Description:
The accused user added me randomly and claimed that he wanted me to join him in a tournament. The prize pool was $2500. He asked me to sign up to his website, tf2goldencup.com. I used a fake account, by the name of loladegraaf43 which was automatically generated.

    Provide Evidence:
The user added me claiming that he wanted me to participate in a TF2 tournament through the website 'tf2goldencup.com'. When I asked him about the website and how old it was, he said it was probably from 2016. The website was registered 22 hours ago. When I asked him if he could tell me a bit more about the team, he said he was in-game and too busy to talk to me and that I should just sign up. This is an excuse to get me to sign up, because afterwards my account would be hacked.

What made this even more suspicious is that the user added me from seemingly nowhere. I had no correlation to this user at all, nor did I have any friends or steam groups in common.

    P.S.
I know I was not actually scammed, but I believe that action should be taken on such users before they do actually dupe someone.
