    Scam Report

Report Type: [Money] Other cash fraud (webmoney, bitcoin, etc)
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198982957465

    Victim profile: 76561198035834737

    What happened? Description:
I listed an unusual hat in a Backpack.tf Classified listing. It was a Scorching Flames Heer's Helmet, I'd traded for it today. I spoke to them, they seemed interested but were taking a while to make a decision. They said they'd need two hours to get the keys, so I agreed to wait. They then asked me for the item history (I'd never checked anything like that before, so I went and figured out how to get it), and upon giving the backpack.tf item history to them, they claimed that "backpack.tf has outdated stats sometimes" and asked me to log in to a different account, called tf2base - never heard of it before, and the site doesn't even appear after a quick Google search, so I immediately said no. They paused for a minute and then backed up entirely, saying that they'd contact the other seller and "let me know", whatever that means, and then I voiced my concerns about the lack of items in their inventory, rapid name changes bragging about 'cashing out' and the fact that they asked me to log into a sketchy site that I'd never heard of just to verify the history of an item, after which they removed me.
