    Scam Report

Report Type: [Other] Any other fraudulent behavior
Virtual item type involved: [None] No items

    Accused profile: 76561199059209178

    Victim profile: 76561198043733062

    What happened? Description:
This is an attempted Steam support scam. I was contacted by the accused via a message on one of my public screenshots. The accused attempts to lead me into messaging a Steam community moderator, and then suggests that I add an account on Discord. All throughout, he is claiming that Steam support will suspend my account unless I work with him.

    Provide Evidence:
My screens are tiled vertically, so that is the reason why they appear stacked on top of each other. Account of the accused is on the top screen, chat with the accused on the bottom screen.

    [RETRO] Harou:
well i just want to inform you about the notice i got from the support, i didnt think the report was serious, until it was approved and receive a response from steam thats why i reached you out
i posted an item worth $603 on market and you have the same profile as the buyer and i didnt received money from him and i accidentally massived report your account for doing illegal purchase on me instead of someone else and I even paid a group to massively report your account :/ I am worried that it will lead to any problems or any possible suspensions

    [23:18]
    Mercuria_?:
    Well, that sucks.

    [23:18]
    [RETRO] Harou:
cuz i just received a response from steam and it said that your account will be suspended already and you will be blocked on steam if theres no action
here's the response from the steam support i've receive
    https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd....928/2B87EFF6E330106F101CF1495687B8C013A86D53/

gladly i got this notice so i thought I really needed to reach out and give you a heads up, so that we could avoid the possible suspension, i feel terrible for reporting the wrong guy that didnt do any harm to me, thats why i am telling you this cause it would be my responsibility if those reports will go through and lead to permanent suspensions.
i am truly sorry, i tried to tell them that it was just a wrong profile but the steam mods said its pending already
just being worried to your account before s✿✿✿s happend :/

    [23:21]
    Mercuria_?:
    Okay.

    [23:22]
    [RETRO] Harou:
steam support suggests that i need to inform you and we need to resolve it with the steam mod named Solo
    Steam Community :: Moderators
    https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/moderators

or it would be best to add him on Discord named Solo#1069, if theres any chance you have discord

    [23:23]
    Mercuria_?:
    Uh-huh.

    [23:25]
    [RETRO] Harou:
just want your help to convince them that you are just innocent and you are not liable for the report, i really don't want you to get banned so we must take it seriously

Unfortunately, SteamRep does not accept reports dealing with hijacking/phishing/hacking -Due to current Investigative Policy
    http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/investigative-policy.140101/

This includes anything to do with API key requests, wrong or misspelled URL's and sites requesting logins of any type in attempts to steal your credentials.
These are phishing/hijacking attempts and are not to be reported to SteamRep!
The threat is against policy also but the user is likely hijacked with all the rest so report them to Valve not here for these things.

You can report the user to Valve instead
In order to do that, you have to:
    1. Visit the accuseds profile
    2. Click MORE drop-down located at the top right of the page
    3. Choose REPORT VIOLATION
    4. Select the violation, then describe it and provide the evidence
    5. Click SUBMIT REPORT

Click here to view an animated gif that shows how to report a violation.
