    Scam Report

Report Type: [Rep Fraud] Impersonation with intent to defraud
Virtual item type involved: [TF2] Team Fortress 2 Items

    Accused profile: 76561198121897567

    Victim profile: 76561197967731809

    What happened? Description:
The accused, someone I have no idea who they are, added me on Steam friends out of nowhere and asked if I wanted to trade.
I asked what item the accused was interested in and the Strange Australium Knife in my inventory came up as subject for this fraudulent attempt.
The accused offered 20 keys for the knife but later stopped the steam transaction and suggested to check if my knife was a duplication with a steam developer.
I knew this was a classic scam attempt, but kept playing dumb and agreed to start a group conversation with the alleged developer.
The "developer" has a private profile, at which point I understood what was going to happen next and broke up the charade.
