What happened? Description:

User is impersonating a Valve Employee and using the Trade Offer URL scam, the Steam User Name Scam, and the Trade Offer URL scam.​

Provide Evidence:

I get added by Megaupgrade (who is on my Steam Friends list) informing me that this user is impersonating Jean from Valve. Accused is going for the duped item scam, the Trade Offer URL scam, and Steam User Name scam in the same conversation. This person is threatening to tradeban me for 20 years if I don't comply, with GIFs implying he is from Valve and has access to my account. I get a suspicion this person is a scammer when he asks for my Trade Offer URL to check if my items are duped. Behavior is akin to a scammer, and not to that of a Valve employee. Suspicions keep growing when said person asks for my Steam User name, at which point I filed this report.

To anyone who has been a victim of this person, I implore you to please show evidence of this person's deception and bring it to the attention to the Valve staff immediately.​

They most certainly did. The friend in question stated something along the lines of their friend being banned, and if I didn't speak up then I would be banned as well. I have an attached screenshot.

I have the blue line in two of my pictures because I don't want to share my true username in the pictures linked, for fear of being scammed.

I need point out that this person has been on my Friends list for a year or so, and there has been no suspicious behavior from this user since I have known him.

Wait, are you telling me Megaupgrade is the scammer?

The last time I talked to him? About a month ago, and I haven't communicated since, I have some IRL issues that I need to be focused on. I have no way of contacting him otherwise. I am just confused about the whole damn thing.

Yes, I am contacting him right now. As of yet, no response. Dunno what is going on here - Steam32 is apparently linking to Elliot151 for some reason, but clicking on the custom URL shows that the profile that I reported no longer exists.

Megaupgrade has responded, and stated he was hijacked. Informing him of this report so he can post the evidence needed.

a friend of mine Wingundman said that i was being reported by accident for dupe items then told me to go to LordKai to solve this issue, at the time i didnt know what the hell was going on, and i accidentally believed it. this is a photo of my conversation
