    Basic Information:

    Community name: ScammerProtection
    Community website: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/scammerprotection
Location: Founded as an international group. No strict location
Languages spoken: I as the community leader have fluent english, german and turkish language skills (Native german with turkish parents who was raised with both languages). I feel comfortable to handle reports in german & turkish.
    Size of community:
9.7k members, steadily growing due to advertisements on different sites such as idle-empire.com & several steam groups

    Staff and groups:

    Steam group: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/scammerprotection
    Admin group:
    Staff ID blocks:

What are your community's policies on scamming & scamming-related activities?
Scam evidence will be provided by users and used to educate others (serving as an example) to prevent this scam from happening to others.

Common scams will directly be adressed & explained via linked guides from Steam Rep and /r/GlobalOffensiveTrade/

Soon there will also be whitelists for trusted cashout sites, trading sites, developers, designers & more.

    API usage:
    No I don't.

Why does your community wish to exchange banners and become a Friend of SteamRep?
Of course it would be a personal achievement for me to be affiliated with you which would make me very proud and motivate me to keep this up.
Also it would help others to take my group serious and just make the general work easier when my steam group has a direct connection to SteamRep.

Tell us more about your community:
While the main goal of other Anti-Scam Steam groups often indirectly was to "witchhunt" a scammer when enough proofs were provided which caused nothing besides a bunch of low-quality reports and a few inapproriate profile comments, my Steam group was created for educational purposes.

With that being said: My goal is to prevent as many users as possible from getting scammed.
So far, this was done by creating a small collection of common scams which all refer to guides which were made by SteamRep or the /r/GlobalOffensiveTrade/ subreddit.

My group was just promoted by normal giveaways & external promotions from websites such as idle-empire.com so far but within the comming week, I will actively start to promote the group as a real educational option to protect yourself from getting scammed. I will use a Steam group range of more than 1 million members (groups where Im a moderator/admin and can post announcements) + my other website vloot.io & the help of several more or less known Youtubers & Twitch streamers

I also have a Twitch stream with regular viewers and a Discord server with 1.3k members who trust me as an individual person. With all the listed examples, Im pretty sure that it shouldn't be an issue for me to grow this ScammerProtect Steam group and do my best to protect as many users as possible from getting scammed.

By now, I already talked with Shubbler from the /r/GlobalOffensiveTrade/ subreddit who was very interested in helping me and many CS:GO oriented steam group owners, website owners, esports related persons (such as team managers) & Youtubers.

I'd love to get in touch with you and have the pleasure to serve you as a supportive partner who will eventually prevent thousands of scam attempts in future and make also people aware of the use of Steam Rep who have never heard of you before.

In the following paragraph, I have attached some links which can be used as a reference to my claims and promises.

    My stream: https://www.twitch.tv/einhade

Some example steam groups where Im able to advertise:

    Groups I own:

Some example partners who are interested in helping me:

    Questions or Comments:
I am well aware of the fact that plenty of owners of the giveaway groups where Im able to advertise had a controversial past but still I can assure you that knowing those users will never impact me in a negative way.

    Hello @EinHaDe,

Many of the staff members of the steam groups that you are partnered with are SteamRep banned. That is a bit more than a "controversial past". As an applicant community, do you not see it as a conflict of interest to promote anti fraud to your users while simultaneously ignoring the fraud committed by your partners? Just trying to better understand your thought process behind it.

    Hey there,

thanks for getting back to me, I checked it myself to see what you mean and I can explain this issue. Within the groups where Im able to post announcements I have exactly 2 steam rep banned partners. The first of them being "Dankulicious" (http://steamrep.com/profiles/76561198064989113) and the second of them being "Yajan" (http://steamrep.com/profiles/76561198369465190).

Let's talk about Dankulicious first because thats probably the smaller issue. I partnered with him a while ago when I was looking to expand my group range. It was a short and quick deal: I modded him in one of my less important groups which has about 14k members and he modded me in his group "FancyRaffles" which has about 7k members. He agreed on posting 1-2 posts a day in the group of each other which can consist of a raffle, a giveaway or something else as long as it somewhat fits the giveaway groups scheme and is of course not considered a scam. To be honest he hasn't really posted in my group to this date and I don't really think that he somewhat cares about this whole steam group stuff anymore.

Now let's face the Yajan topic: When I got in touch with him I investigated on the whole drama about him since I noticed that plenty of group owners hated him.
I was new to this group topic and had nothing besides a 1k youtube channel. In 2018, Yajan was mostly busy with his privat life. He had some real life issues so he barely was active this year. He gave me the insane chance to become an admin and take care of his groups for the time he was gone. The only thing I had to do is sending him some items here and then which I always did on my own without being asked by him.

He made it possible for me to grow my own groups and partner up with so many different users. I know he caused a lot of trouble & work for SteamRep but by now, we've kinda become friends. Like we barely talk about group related stuff and rather have conversations about real life oriented topics. He still fully trusts me with all of his groups and the right to do with them whatever I want and I value this gift every single day.

I pretty much talked with the majority of bigger group owners about the issue with Yajan and many of them were able to forgive him or admitted that they only hated him because everyone else did. I know him for a year now and to this date he never had a bad intention or showed a selfish thought. I know he voiced out in a rude way towards SteamRep but I can assure that giving me a chance to team up with SteamRep will never mean that SteamRep will come Yajan any closer.

Yajan's groups are mostly used to promote my giveaways. Same goes for Dankulicious. I can assure you that I don't tollerate scammers and only ever talk to them when Im trying to learn more about a certain scam. Those conversations are mostly similar to those "Interviewing a scammer" videos and I only have those talks with scammers once in a while when a smart one reaches out to me with the intention to scam me.

After typing this whole response I just saw that you have linked this group https://steamcommunity.com/groups/873458745093845. Sorry I entirely missed that when I was reading your message first, however Im not too sure what I can say about this. I got to talk with MiKapp1t a few times and we partnered up even though he seems to be mostly inactive. He made the impression of a very kind person and I never got in touch with any other staff members of his group.

I hope this answer helped you, please reach out to me when you have any further questions.

    Best regards,

For someone you are involved with and seem to trust sure doesn't think highly of a site that you are wanting to get involved with. What is your take on their opinion?

Not to say this is any positive or negative reflection of this app in anyway - just pointing out what you stated about a user you are clearly involved with and don't appear to be ready to exclude the user in any future dealings to keep others safe with what you do.
    Makes just zero sense really.

just to mention it again: Working with me would never mean that you have to get any closer to Yajan.

I can promise that I will always watch Yajan and stop him from commiting fraud if it ever happens again. I will never tollerate a scammer because I worked with him before, but to be honest I won't expect him to do something shady
because he seems to be super exhausted from the hard time everyone is trying to make him on Steam + his private life. Still I will always keep an eye on him no worries.

My opinion on this statement and the general event which got Yajan banned:
I wasn't there when it happened so I can not tell if he really just delayed the raffle because he wasn't around or if it was a real scam attempt.

With the proof which was provided Im also willing to respect your decision of course. Especially because he sold the unusual later on with a very questionable background.

The fact that he realeased the statement was obviously because he felt treated in an unfair way. Im pretty sure that there were better options to sort this out like contacting individual admins because everything
would have been better than just calling out SteamRep in a bunch of big Steam groups.

    As I said:
I use Yajan's groups for MY own stuff like giveaways or posting my Twitch livestreams but due to his inactivity he basically never was involved in anything what I did so far.

He has been an insane help for me so far and Im proud on his groups everday but besides a bunch of talks about real life related stuff I havent really done anything with him and I will always watch for scummy stuff.

@schmed sorry again for the late reply to your actual question. I just realize that you listed some members who got SteamRep banned. Besides Yajan I've never been in touch with any of those.
